Tips for Spicing Up Your Relationship

While all relationships go through their ups and downs, sometimes it seems like the downs are too large to overcome. For this reason, many worry about the spark going out in their relationship. But there is hope, and there are a few ways that you can spice up your relationship today, bringing you back to the fun, friendly, loving couple that you used to be.

1. Go Somewhere New

You don’t have to take a long trip to get away together, you just need to go somewhere new. Find a new park, a hiking trail, a restaurant you have never been to, an event, or anything that is completely out of the ordinary for you. Going somewhere new together will inspire you both to feel more exploratory and to bond over the experience. A few hours spent outside of your comfort zone might lead to a new hobby, or it might just give you something to talk about on the way home.

2. Cuddle And Touch Each Other

Lay on the couch and watch a movie, or sit down and read books together. Really any activity where you can be touching each other but not heading towards sex. Try to remember what it is like to lay together for hours and talk, or just hold hands. Physical touch will make you feel more connected to each other and the absence of sexual pressure will make you feel much more in the mood the next time you are in the bedroom.

3. Share Hopes And Dreams Over Wine

Sit down with a good bottle of wine and have a long deep talk. Find out if your dreams have changed, if you still want to do the things you talked about at the start of your relationship, and what you want the future to hold. This time together will have you looking at your partner in a new light. More importantly, this will help you find new topics to connect on and share a passion for. Try to do this a few times a month if possible.

4. Do An Activity Together

If you keep talking about going for a run or learning how to dance, make tonight the night that you start. Even if you just walk around the neighborhood together or start learning how to dance from a Youtube video, it will still make you feel closer to each other. Working together towards a common goal will remind you of the qualities that you love in your partner, give you something the conquer together, and give you a feeling of victory when you finally get it right. Shared activities also create periods of time where you are completely focused on the one you love.

It can be hard to keep the romance alive in a long term relationship, but these suggestions will help you feel closer to your partner. Try and move away from the expectation of sex and focus on your partner as a whole person instead. Surprisingly, the deeper emotional connection will lead to a spicier relationship both in and out of the bedroom.
